One of the city’s biggest annual events, A Taste of Colorado, returns to Denver’s Civic Center Park on September 1-3.

Music, food, art, an artisan marketplace and fun for the kids: this free event has it all.

And this year, it’s bigger than ever.

The organizers have upped the size of the main stage and are bringing bigger national acts for your entertainment.

Plus, there’s a new upgraded VIP experience with exclusive food and beverage options. And to top it off, they’ve expanded the Kids Zone for your active little tykes.

From the music you won’t want to miss to the food and beer you’ve got to try, here’s what to see and where to stay at Denver’s annual Taste of Colorado festival.

The Music

Although the title “Taste of Colorado” may sound like this event is all about food, the organizers of the event have dubbed it “Denver’s Ultimate Music Weekend”.

This year’s lineup includes classics like REO Speedwagon and George Thorogood & The Destroyers, along with country star Leann Rimes and a taste of that turn-of-the-century rock nostalgia in the form of Everclear, Soul Asylum, Sugar Ray, and Smash Mouth.

The Food

You can’t go to this festival without tasting all the different food vendors that Colorado has to offer. And it’s easy with over 50 food vendors featuring local favorites from both restaurants and food trucks.

While they haven’t yet announced which restaurants will be serving up the eats this year, past years are a good indication of what to expect. Turkey legs, funnel cakes, shrimp cocktails, fry bread, tacos, and fried alligator are all on our must-eat list.

The Marketplace

Looking for a souvenir to take home to help you remember your experience? The Mountain & Plain Marketplace at A Taste of Colorado has got you covered.

Unique crafts, local art, memorable gifts, handcrafted furniture and jewelry — the list goes on.

Over 175 marketplace vendors will be at the event. And on top of that, you can check out original art from local and national artists at Fine Art in the Park.

Kids Zone

The Kids Zone experience planned for this year is sure to help your child make new friends and lasting memories.

Hands-on arts and crafts, a “pop-up” playground, story time courtesy of the Denver Public Library, and a stage with children’s music, magic, comedy and more are all on the menu.

Speaking of menus, they’ve also got some special kid-friendly food items, like pizza and funnel cakes. But for the imaginative budding foodie, there’s some unique offerings in the Kids Zone, like alligator.
